Case study: Mr Chippy

Mr Chippy is a renowned and much-loved fish and chip shop located in the heart of York, just off St Sampson’s Square, on Church Street. It was founded in May 2001 by York locals, Andrew and Rowena Periclenus, who brought decades of catering and kitchen management expertise from working at some of York’s most exclusive venues, including York Minster, The National Railway Museum and the Treasurer’s House.

As soon as Andrew laid his eyes on a closed-down chippy on one of York’s busiest streets, he saw the opportunity to deliver great fish and chips and fantastic customer service, and the rest is history!

Mr Chippy’s internet connection, like many businesses in the city centre, had always been a nightmare. It needed something fast and reliable so the takeaway could run smoothly.
